So, this is the time of year when we make resolutions and keep some of them, right?

This past year has been a very productive and interesting year. Some of the highlights include having been fortunate to play with some incredible musicians such as Ohad Talmor, Dave Ambrosio and Eric McPherson on a few concerts and on the recording of my new record (Samadhi), work with Kris Davis’ Massive thread alongside pianists Vijay Iyer, Angelica Sanchez,Russ Lossing and Craig Taborn and  put a new band Color Wheel together featuring Michaël Attias on alto saxophone, Noah Garabedian on bass and Nathan Ellman-Bell on drums.

I was also lucky to work on a few album recordings that will be coming out in the next year: Trombonist Jared Dubin‘s Group recorded in early June, trombonist Trevor Long‘s band went in to the studio late June and we just finished a great duo record with Japanese singer Yuko Kimura in late December.

As for upcoming projects and releases, Swiss vocalist Soraya Berent and I will be playing two nights of concerts at the AMR jazz club in Geneva, Switzerland on February 23rd and 24th, my quartet recording “Samadhi” will be released on the Freshsound New Talent label followed by a CD release party to be announced and a promotional tour, and Color Wheel will be performing so stay tuned!
